Chubusangaku National Park

This park is one of Japan's representative mountain parks, covering the entire North Alps. It was established in 1934 and was one of the first national parks in Japan. The park is made up of 3,000-meter-high peaks, including the Ushirotateyama mountain range with Mount Hakuba, the Tateyama mountain range with Mount Tsurugidake and Mount Tateyama, the Hotaka mountain range with Mount Yarigatake, and Mount Norikura, which rises in the southernmost part of the park. The mountain range offers a variety of mountain landscapes that attract climbers, such as large sheer rock walls, deep and steep valleys, alpine flower fields and grouse, snow-covered valleys that remain until summer, U-shaped valleys carved by glaciers, lakes and lava plateaus created by volcanoes, and more. In addition, the trailheads to Kamikochi, Tateyama's Murodo, and Norikuradake's Tatamidaira are easily accessible by public transportation, allowing climbers to enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery and alpine flora.
