Amamigunto National Park is located in the southernmost part of Kagoshima Prefecture and was designated as the 34th national park on March 7, 2009. The islands of the Amami Archipelago retain a rich and diverse natural environment, an ecosystem consisting of unique and rare plants and animals, and cultural landscapes born from the relationship between people and nature. In Amamigunto National Park, visitors can enjoy the unique and fascinating nature of each island and experience the history of people's lives and lifestyles.
